James R. Ranft, O.D., M.S.

Dr. Ranft joined the practice in 1989 and along with our founder, Dr. Andrew Davidson, formed the Tipp Eye Center in 1995. 

A lifelong resident of the Miami Valley, after graduating from Fairborn Baker High School in 1981, Dr. Ranft graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University, with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. In 1989, he graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Optometry with dual degrees, his Doctor of Optometry and a master’s degree in corneal physiology. Dr. Ranft’s research on oxygen permeability of rigid contact lenses was published in the Contact Lens Spectrum and was presented to the American Academy of Optometry. 

He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Association, and the Miami Valley Society of Optometrists. Dr. Ranft has served as the president of Tipp City Rotary, Tipp-Monroe Optimists and the Tipp City Area Chamber of Commerce. He is Vice President and Chairman of the Distribution Committee for Tipp City Foundation. 

Dr. Ranft and his wife Noel live in Tipp City with their rescue dog Rosie.  They have three adult children, all graduates of Tippecanoe High School and several grandchildren.  In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family, golf and philanthropy. 

Amy L. Myers, O.D.

Optometrist

Amy L. Myers, O.D.

Dr. Myers joined the practice in 2020. 

She is from Bellefontaine, Ohio where she graduated as a valedictorian from Benjamin Logan High School in 2009. She went on to attend the University of Dayton where she graduated magna cum laude in 2013 with bachelor’s degrees in both biology and adolescent science education. 

Dr. Myers spent the first three years of her career as a physics and biology teacher at Piqua High School. During her time in the classroom, she came to realize the significance of eyecare and decided to pursue a career in optometry. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she graduated cum laude in 2020. 

Dr. Myers has training in a variety of settings including primary care, ocular disease, low vision, specialty contact lenses, binocular vision, and pediatrics. Dr. Myers is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, and the Miami Valley Society of Optometrists. 

Dr. Myers currently lives outside Urbana with her husband, Brandon, her sons, Arthur and Griffin, and her cat, Melvin. She enjoys hiking, biking, playing piano, and traveling. 

Derek M. Pierron, O.D.

Derek M. Pierron, O.D.

Dr. Pierron joined the practice in June of 2024. From a young age, he had an interest in learning about vision and decided to pursue Optometry as his career. 

Originally from Maria Stein, Ohio, Dr Pierron attended Marion Local High School, graduating as class valedictorian. He attended Wright State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology and graduated summa cum laude. He then went on to The Ohio State University College of Optometry, graduating cum laude and earning his doctorate in 2024. 

Dr Pierron is interested in many facets of optometry and has special interests in ocular disease, contact lenses, and binocular vision. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Ohio Optometric Association. 

He currently resides in Anna with his wife, Maria, their daughter, Alice, and their dog, Chester. Outside of work, Dr Pierron enjoys hiking, birdwatching, and family genealogy. 

Mindy

Practice Manager

Mindy

Mindy has been with Tipp Eye Center since 2009, where she began as an Optometric Technician before being promoted to Practice Manager in 2018. She enjoys the challenges of her role, particularly the financial and business side of the practice, while also taking great pride in helping the patients, Doctors, and staff. Outside of work, Mindy enjoys reading, traveling to the Caribbean, and spending time with her husband of 26 years, Wade, and their two fur-babies, Bera and Scout. She currently resides just outside Brookville.

Yvonda

LDO – Optician

Yvonda

Yvonda is a licensed optician and has been working for Tipp Eye Center since 2021. She began her optical career in 1986. Yvonda loves being an optician because it combines healthcare and helping people see with fashion. Her motto is, “Life is too short for boring glasses!” Yvonda loves fashion, photography, and helping others. She lives in Arcanum with her husband, John, and her adorable dog, Paris.

Chris

Chris

Chris has been an optician with Tipp Eye Center since 2002. He loves working at Tipp Eye Center because he feels privileged to work alongside some of the best doctors in the eye care industry. Chris enjoys meeting his many wonderful patients and taking care of all their optical needs. He has lived in Tipp City since 1989 and has raised 3 children. Chris is a proud grandparent of three and has three fur-babies who keep him busy.

Allison

Insurance Billing Specialist

Allison

Allison has been with the Tipp Eye Center since 2012. After growing up and living in Tipp City her whole life, she married her husband, Wade, in 2013 and moved to his family farm in Xenia where they currently reside with their son Henry, labradoodle Clive, and more chickens than she can count. When she isn't busy helping in the fields or with the dairy cows she enjoys gardening, canning, taking walks, camping, and hunting with her family. One of her favorite parts of working for Tipp Eye Center are the patients. She enjoys meeting new patients and visiting with ones she has known most of her life.

Aryn

Optometric Technician

Aryn

Aryn has been with Tipp Eye Center since 2020 as an Optometric Technician. Prior to joining our team, she worked as an Optometric Technician at another practice for 4 years. Aryn loves her patients and helping to meet their medical needs by providing them with the best possible care. Outside of work, Aryn enjoys watching women's college basketball, reading, doing her nails, and watching true crime documentaries. She resides in Pleasant Hill with her husband, Randal, their two dogs, Blu and Bear, and their three cats, Salem, Bindi, and Ellie.

Amanda

Amanda

Amanda began her career with Tipp Eye Center in 2018 as a Receptionist and was promoted to Optometric Technician in May 2025. She enjoys working closely with patients and bringing her comedic sense of humor to their experience while helping care for their eye health. Becoming more hands-on with patients has been one of the highlights of her career thus far. Amanda is the youngest of three children raised in a family of first responders. Outside of work, she enjoys tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, as well as various crafts. Amanda lives in Pleasant Hill with her husband, Kegan, and their spunky pup, Smokie Jo.

Emily has worked at Tipp Eye Center since May 2025. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, making art, and antiquing

Kelsie

Kelsie

Kelsie has been a Receptionist at Tipp Eye Center since November of 2025. She loves her job because she enjoys helping patients on a more personal level. It is important to Kelsie to make sure her patients feel heard and cared for. Outside of work, she enjoys watching movies, listening to "screamo" music, and spending time with her girlfriend, Kayla, and Kayla's son, Miles. She currently resides in Sidney with her two dogs Pepper and Trixie.

Jillian

Receptionist / Optometric Technician

Jillian

Jillian has been a medical receptionist at Tipp Eye Center since 2025. She enjoys her role because no two days are ever the same, and there is always something new to keep her engaged, smiling and learning. Outside of work, Jillian enjoys crafting, traveling, and spending time with her significant other, especially at the race track.
